Under the bonnet

These cee’d models will be the first to include Kia’s new eco Turbo three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. There are three turbo charged engines to choose from – two petrol units and one diesel. There is also a seven-speed double clutch (7-DCT) automatic transmission for use with the new diesel engine.

A seven-speed DCT gearbox has been introduced for the cee’d and it is planned that Kia will add this to future models outwith the range.

The 5-door cee’d, procee’d and Sportswagon come with a 1.4-litre petrol engine and the five-door and Sportswagon will also offer a 1.4-litre turbodiesel option.

A 201bhp 1.6-litre T-GDi engine can be found under the bonnet of the GT models.

Sporty styling

You can enjoy racey looks with surprisingly low running costs with the GT Line trim that’s available on all three models. The GT-Line trim option will be available on more Kia models in the future. The GT-Line comes with 17-inch wheels and the suspension is altered on the rear.

The body style has seen changes to present more of a hot-hatch look for the three versions of the model. The grille mesh has been altered to give it more of an oval shape and it will feature on all models except the GT-Line and GT. The bumper redesign gives the cee’d a wider stance offering even sportier looks again.
